We support family, friends and partners looking after someone with dementia by providing free one and three-day courses, led by experienced clinicians.
Our courses have been developed by our service delivery team, which is made up of healthcare professionals who have experience in supporting people with dementia and their families. Our services provide a supportive environment where people learn about dementia; building their resilience; and maintaining their wellbeing while caring for others. Our three-day courses have been independently evaluated by the Association for Dementia Studies at Worcester University and meet Nice guidelines. To read the results of the evaluation please visit our website.
Our courses are currently held at a venue in the Midlands but our future Dementia Carers Centre is at the heart of our vision. The centre will be a place where those who care for a person with dementia can get the support they need to enhance their caring skills, access information, and receive social therapeutic interventions. We’re starting with one flagship centre, located in the Midlands and plan to develop more regional centres in the next ten years.
