Dalian University

Dalian University was firstly formed on the basis of three colleges, namely Dalian University initially established in April 1949, Great Kanto Grammar School established in March 1948, and Medical School of Lvda Province established in October 1950. In October 1987, the three colleges merged into the new Dalian University, consisting of Technical School, Normal School, and Medical School. Dalian University is a teaching-research-oriented university. There are 25 colleges, 63 undergraduate majors, 20 first-level discipline master's degree programs, 4 master's degree programs, which covers 11 key disciplines as philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, medicine, management, and art. The university has 7 Provincial Key Disciplines, and 8 disciplines enlisted in the Specialized Disciplines for Enhancing Core Competence of Higher Institutions in Liaoning Province. Among them, 2 are elected as the Top Provincial Specialized Discipline.
