Cucalorus Film Foundation

The 21st annual Cucalorus Film Festival and CONNECT Conference takes place November 11-15, 2015 in downtown Wilmington, North Carolina. The non-competitive festival showcases more than 200 films from across the globe and attracts an audience of nearly 15,000 cultural travelers who come to the coastal North Carolina city to celebrate the art-form and connect with peers. Founded in 1994 as a showcase for independent films, Cucalorus has since grown into a multi-disciplinary event, with programs focusing on dance, music videos, entrepreneurship, emerging artists, social justice, works-in-progress, and international cinema. The festival creates an opportunity for intimate engagement between audience and artist through its retreat-like atmosphere, resulting in friendships that extend far beyond the five-day celebration. For three years in a row, MovieMaker Magazine has recognized Cucalorus as one of the "25 Coolest Film Festivals in the world."
