Information
The Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan (CFSEM) was established in 1984 for the betterment of the residents of Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Monroe, Washtenaw, St. Clair and Livingston counties. We are dedicated to making powerful change in our communities and solving the complex problems facing our region. We are here in perpetuity to encourage charitable giving and enhance the quality of life in our region. CFSEM manages charitable assets and works with donors to increase the impact of their giving. A permanent community endowment, built by gifts from thousands of individuals and organizations, enables us to support a wide variety of programs and activities benefiting the arts, health and human services, education, community development, civic affairs and much more. Since inception, CFSEM has distributed nearly $843 million through more than 57,000 grants to nonprofit organizations throughout southeast Michigan and beyond.
