Code2040 is a nonprofit organization dedicated to closing the skills gap and opportunity divide in engineering and technology in the United States. Code2040 provides opportunities, networks, and support for top minority engineering talent to ensure their leadership in the innovation economy.
Code2040's flagship program is a summer Fellows Program that places high performing Black and Latino/a software engineering students in internships with top tech companies and provides them with mentorship, leadership training, and network development.
The latest census projections show that people of color will be the majority in the United States by the year 2040, yet there is no indication that the substantial minority achievement gap will be closed by that same year. Code2040 was founded to make a direct impact on the achievement gap by increasing the numbers of underrepresented minorities participating in the high-value innovation economy.
