CRL Ltd

The NZ Government and Auckland Council established the company City Rail Link Limited (CRLL) to undertake the delivery of the City Rail Link (CRL) project . This took effect from July 2017. CRL is a priority to deal with Auckland's population and transport patronage growth and help move its economy forward. CRL involves two 3.4km-long, twin tunnels up to 42 metres below the city centre. It means Britomart will become a through station with new stations near Aotea Square and Karangahape Road, and a redeveloped station at Mount Eden. The Crown and Auckland Council expect that the management, delivery and completion of the CRL will be an exemplar model for the efficient and effective provision of public infrastructure through central and local government collaboration.
