About Biochemical Society

Founded in 1911, the Biochemical Society exists to advance molecular bioscience, promoting its importance as an academic discipline, from grassroots level to government policy, and highlighting its role in positively effecting societal challenges. Offering an extensive programme of scientific meetings and training events, grants and awards, educational resources, policy work and public engagement, we provide support for researchers and scientists across all career stages. We also publish 7 journals through our wholly-owned publisher, Portland Press, disseminating world-leading research and reviews that cover the breadth of the molecular biosciences.
