Baliuag University, located on Gil Carlos Street in Baliwag, Bulacan, Philippines, has a rich history that dates back to its inception as Baliuag Institute in 1925. Initially a modest high school with just 75 students, the institution faced challenges during the Japanese occupation, temporarily closing in 1941. However, it reopened in 1943 and expanded its academic offerings to include Junior Normal and Liberal Arts programs by 1946. The school's evolution continued, and in 1947, it was elevated to Junior College status. By 1968, it had transformed into Baliuag Colleges, reflecting its growing reputation and diverse course offerings.

In 2001, Baliuag Colleges achieved university status, gaining full autonomy from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). This milestone allowed the institution to self-regulate and introduce new academic programs without prior approval, showcasing CHED's confidence in its commitment to high-quality education. Today, Baliuag University provides a comprehensive range of educational programs, including elementary, high school, undergraduate, and graduate studies.
