We were created by the County Board of Supervisors in 1964 with the Crozet community as its sole customer. In the 1960s the South Rivanna Dam was constructed and several subdivisions were developed throughout the County, such as Carrsbrook, Woodbrook, Westmoreland, Northfields, Berkeley, Hessian Hills, Montvue, Colthurst, Flordon and West Leigh.
