The Albemarle County Service Authority (ACSA) distributes treated water, and collect sewage for treatment, while maintaining, expanding, and replacing the infrastructure within the service area. We were created by the County Board of Supervisors in 1964 with the Crozet community as its sole customer. In the 1960s the South Rivanna Dam was constructed and several subdivisions were developed throughout the County, such as Carrsbrook, Woodbrook, Westmoreland, Northfields, Berkeley, Hessian Hills, Montvue, Colthurst, Flordon and West Leigh.
