Established in 2009 by the Ahmedabad Education Society, Ahmedabad University is a private, non-profit university that offers students a liberal education with a focus on interdisciplinary and project-based learning and research thinking. The academic environment offers students, researchers and faculty the opportunity to participate in a unique learning process, mediated by fieldwork and projects that enable deep creative insight, rigorous analytical experimentation, and fulfilling careers. The University’s emphasis on learning by doing integrates strong theoretical orientation with practice. This ability to translate ideas and apply concepts and theories is a hallmark of a 21st century education. Ahmedabad University recognises that social challenges and job opportunities are occurring at the intersection of various axes of influence, defined by disciplines (data, materials, biology, and behaviour), nature (air, water, forests, and land), sectors of impact (health, transport, energy, and education) and society (individual and community). The University offers undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral programmes in a range of disciplines: Undergraduate Programmes: BA (Hons), BBA (Hons), BCom (Hons), BCom Professional (Hons), BS (Hons), Integrated MBA, Integrated MS, BTech Chemical Engineering, BTech Computer Science and Engineering, and BTech Mechanical Engineering. Graduate Programmes: MBA, MA Economics, Master in Management Studies in Heritage Management, MTech Computer Sciences and Engineering, and Global Executive MBA in Pharmaceutical Management. Doctoral programmes are offered at the School of Engineering and Applied Science, the School of Arts and Sciences, and Amrut Mody School of Management.
