The establishment of Abu Dhabi Ship Building (ADSB) was in line with the vision of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed (Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces) to have a world-class facility in Abu Dhabi to support the UAE Navy. Inaugurated in 1996, ADSB initially focused on naval repairs and refits and gradually expanded its expertise to include building sophisticated war ships like the Baynunah 70m Corvette.
ADSB now specialises in the construction, repair and refit of Naval, Military and Commercial vessels. The company boasts an impressive portfolio of build and refit projects that are collectively worth at least AED 4 billion. Moreover, the company is widely recognised for carrying out its projects in Steel, Aluminium Alloy and High Tech Composite Materials according to the most stringent international standards.
Leveraging its highly strategic, centralised location in the Arabian Gulf region, ADSB is rapidly consolidating its position as the leading ship builder and support contractor for all Naval, Military and Commercial operators in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
ADSB has also built a global network of strategic partners from different countries, each offering a unique set of professional and technical expertise that complement ADSB's specialised maritime capabilities. ADSB's strategic partners have been carefully selected for their expertise, specialist knowledge and reputation in the design and build of Naval, Military and Commercial Ships.
As a UAE Public Joint Stock Company, ADSB is proud to serve and support the UAE and the rest of the GCC's military and commercial marine organisations and operators.
