Since its establishment in March 2007, 1506 Creative City Investment Company LTD has rapidly become not only the most important creative industry park in the premises of the Foshan Municipality, but also the most creative one among all the creative parks in the Guangdong Province. Viewed as a model of privately managed and yet socially minded regional industry transformation catalyst, it draws crowds from across the nation almost daily. At the international level, it has received just as well high praises from visitors such as Mr. Jim Hollington, Director of the British Council (Beijing), Mr. Michael Keane, a leading expert on China’s creative industry, and a delegation made up by the West Midlands museum curators from the UK. Michel Marqueton, the world renowned motorcycle designer has made 1506 Creative City the site for his firm. Dr. Wayne Higby, the highly acclaimed artist and Vice President of International Academy of Ceramics set up his studio among others at 1506 Creative City's Nanfeng Ancient Kiln Campus. Currently, 1506 Creative City is made up of two campuses about three kilometers apart. The combined constructed area is over 380,000㎡ distributed among some forty buildings of various functions. The overall planning for both campuses has given painstaking attention to creating a work-life and business-leisure harmonized environment. The Park has also strived to strike a balance of securing on one hand all-around requirements by businesses and on the other facilitating the public access. The five year development plan put out by 1506 Creative City projects an ambitious vision that shall transform this complex of about 90 hectares into an integrated regional creative powerhouse.
