Nokian Tyres is the world’s northernmost tire manufacturer, but our expertise reaches way beyond the limits of our northern home. We promote and facilitate safe driving in demanding conditions around the world, and craft innovative products for passenger cars, trucks and heavy machinery that give you peace of mind in all driving conditions. Whether you drive in snow, slush or heavy rain, on a dry highway, icy country lane or off road on gravel and rocks, we offer a solution for you. Nokian Tyres' history started more than 120 years ago. Founded in 1898, in the town of Nokia, Finland, we have learned through many generations what real peace of mind on the road means. Inspired by our heritage, we develop all our tires with the goals of sustainable safety and environmental friendliness throughout the product’s entire life cycle, respecting the people who make them, the people who drive them and the planet we all live on. As a Scandinavian company, sustainability is on our very DNA. We have our own plants in Nokia, Finland and Dayton, TN, USA. The US factory celebrated its opening in September 2019, and it represents the absolute top in the field in terms of productivity, quality and sustainability. In 2024 we opened a factory in Oradea, Romania, where commercial production is scheduled to start in 2025. The Oradea factory will be the first zero CO2 emission factory in the tire industry. Nokian Tyres group includes the Vianor tire retail chain with wholesale and retail business in Nokian Tyres’ primary markets.
