Founded in 2015, Aera stands as a market leader and one of the largest suppliers of African environmental commodities. At the heart of global markets with a specific focus on Africa, we identify, source, and monetize environmental commodities to generate new and additional revenues for asset owners. Our mission is to accelerate Africa’s climate transition and support sustainable growth across the continent. We began as a pure player in the voluntary carbon markets and have since diversified, adding new product trading lines: renewable energy certificates (2020), compliance carbon credits (2025), and recycled plastics (2025). Every day, we provide our clients and counterparties with best-in-class services and solutions. Our expertise combines technical support, financing structuring, and commercial capabilities to help projects, secure transactions, and optimize flows and values.
