• Presented at education conferences on how to use behavior data to analyze behavioral trends at the student, classroom, and school-level, plan and evaluate individualized interventions, and maintain a positive school climate. From August 2013 to June 2014 (11 months) Program Analyst @ I created a position to automate, analyze, and innovate at a high performing charter school in New Haven. I also:
• Automate logistical aspects of teachers and deans’ jobs so that teachers can spend more time in the classroom helping students and deans can spend more time improving teachers’ instruction.
• Created and implemented three school-wide systemic shifts that increased student behavioral and academic accountability at school that improved its state test scores by 7% in 2012-2013.
• Deescalate and support frustrated students in Elm City’s Reflection Room while teaching them coping skills so that they could get back to their classrooms as quickly as possible.
• Manage the consequence and data collection process of all student behavior incidents. From July 2012 to June 2014 (2 years) 5th/6th Grade Reading/Writing Teacher @ • Led reading/writing classes to attain an average of two years of reading growth in one year.
• Planned rigorous curriculum resulting in an average of 83% content mastery in both reading and writing as measured by the state end-of-grade assessment.
• Advised 12-student group in character values and interpersonal skills. From September 2010 to June 2012 (1 year 10 months) Connecticut Corps Member @ Served as a member of highly selective national service corps of recent college graduates of all academic majors who commit two years to teach in underserved communities.
