💼 Past Experience

Tim’s current research interests are characterizing and technological advancements in the field of Food Microbiology and Sterility. He is also interested in contemporary issues in Pharmaceuticals, Infectious Disease Control, and Food Safety.Prior to joining the pharmaceutical team at BPL in 2002, Tim spent four years as the Microbiology Manager at the National Blood Service (BPL). There, he led a team of scientists who developed and ran the Laboratory’s own microbiology and sterility assurance program, managed day-to-day lab operations, and developed and Principles of Microbiology and Sterility.As the Head of Microbiology and Sterility at Bio Products Laboratory Limited from January 2002 to April 2017, Tim played a key role in developing, implementing, and overall inspectorate all aspects of BPL’s food microbiology and sterility assurance program. He also led the development of ✔GMP Policy and Procedure & ✔GMP Hazard Communication Program, oversaw the implementation of PROCEDURES and STANDARDS, and directed the quality assurance of products exported to the European Union.Tim has over 30 years of experience as an editor, journalist, lecturer, and consultant in the Pharmaceuticals industry. He has written and presented on a wide range of Pharmaceuticals topics, from food safety to sterility assurance. He has also gained experience as an examiner and mentor in the Food and Beverage industry.

💡 Technical & Interpersonal Skills

From January 2002 to April 2017, Tim Ph.D. was the Head of Microbiology and Sterility Assurance at Bio Products Laboratory Limited, where he directed and managed the antimicrobial protection and quality assurance programs for the laboratory division. In this role, he directed and supervised the microbe identification and PCR testing process, as well as the sterility assurance and food safety program. He also played a leading role in the development and management of the company's GxP compliance and quality risk management system. Prior to this, Tim served as a Visiting Lecturer at University College London, where he taught pharmaceutical microbiology to post-graduate students. He also wrote and edited articles for scientific journals, and held a variety of non-technical roles at industry companies. He has also had a strongfortune as a lecturer, leading seminars on some of the most important aspects of pharmaceutical microbiology. Tim's teaching experience has also included presenting at industry meetups, and giving lectures to undergraduate students. He is also an expert on the manufacture and testing of microbiological Stability Assurance systems. In this role, he developed and demonstration a three-phase GxP safety and quality assurance system for the laboratory division.Since his appointment as Visiting Lecturer at University College London, Tim has also developed a great appreciation for the research community and their contribution to scientific knowledge. He regularly attends events rich in research collaboration, and enjoys sharing his insights with fellow scientists.
