Perform ESXi host builds and software support/troubleshooting for Windows 2000-2K12 R2 and Redhat/CentOS/Ubuntu operating systems for several thousand physical servers along with VMware VM’s and hosts. Make architectural decisions and coordinate communications and operational tasks as required for our Openstack deployment.
Implement anti-virus, file server, and Terminal Server/Remote Desktop Gateway/RemoteApp environments in a new datacenter while maintaining existing environments. Prior responsibilities in this group were to work as part of a team to perform all physical data center tasks including repairs, upgrades, and copper/fiber cabling for all equipment in company data centers. Work regularly with HP Blade system servers and infrastructure, and CISCO networking equipment. Plan, coordinate, and implement proof of concepts.
Act as the operations point for PDU replacement in all racks in multiple datacenters, replacement of all SAN connectivity in multiple datacenters, and vendor POC's. Supervise multiple non-Disney personnel performing various datacenter projects. Managed and supported other large-scale projects working with multiple business units and vendors as necessary. Responsibilities include all aspects of lab support from design/planning to ordering, racking, and configuring equipment. Perform extensive Win2K3 and Win2K8, SQL 2005 and 2008 and IIS support of development groups. Manage multiple Force10 switches and F5’s, a 250+TB NetApp, multiple 64 to 1024 core HPC clusters, several 10+ TB file servers, Hyper-V (VM) servers, along with a small firewalled external presence. Manage operational aspects of projects, including all requirements necessary to take them through performance and certification testing and into production in a 24X7 capacity. Operate as part of a 24 X 7 support team. Monitor 3000+ servers across multiple datacenters, resolving service failures, SQL job failures, or any other service interruptions in a high bandwidth, high profile environment servicing multiple thousands of users. Implement, maintain and manage WDIG’s OVO/W implementation across three datacenters. Perform user maintenance for Win2K/2K3, LINUX, VPN, Perforce, and other applications. Troubleshoot multiple types of issues in a multi-tier environment on Windows and LINUX platforms. Work with Development to roll out code, and Systems Engineering teams as appropriate. Use ServiceDesk to monitor and resolve alerts, and prioritize workload as necessary. Act as incident manager for service failures that cannot be resolved easily, contacting multiple support teams and third party vendors as necessary to resolve the issue, as well as notifying affected users of the situation and progress. From May 2005 to January 2008 (2 years 9 months) Greater Seattle AreaDistributed Systems Analyst @ Build and maintain Domain Controllers, Application Servers, Web Servers, Oracle and SQL Servers, and other NT and HP-UX servers as necessary for Airborne to support various applications for the Financials Department. Install, configure, and support multiple applications including Oasys, Actuate, Acorde, PeopleSoft, E-Trade, and Onyx. Work in a large (5,000+ seat) distributed environment with various groups to resolve networking or application issues with internal and VAR technical resources. Support domestic and international call centers. Also responsible for special projects including SAN testing, scheduling software (OPC and CA-7), DB2 gateways, Anti-Virus, our HP Superdome, and am part of our AD design team. First 3 months on-site were done as contract-to hire through Renaissance Worldwide. From July 2000 to May 2004 (3 years 11 months) Greater Seattle AreaNetwork Engineer @ Build Windows2000 Domain Infrastructure for nationwide implementation. Install and administer Exchange 5.5 Servers, Anti-Virus Servers, Fax Servers, Domain controllers, SQL Servers, IIS Servers, VPN servers, and all other servers as necessary. Configure all switches and routers and set up Cisco Router to Router VPN across the Internet as a WAN infrastructure. Perform server upgrades and additions as necessary. Roll out new remote sites including all servers, user machines, and printers. Manage all necessary Domain services including WINS, DNS, DHCP, RIS (Remote Installation Service), VPN, and Active Directory. Provide top level support for Help Desk personnel.
