My previous skills as the CEO of a leading charity, a fundraiser and educational leader are now helping Raising IT provide fundraising solutions and support to the organisations we are working with, to provide the additional resources needed to deliver their vision. From February 2013 to September 2013 (8 months) London, United KingdomChief Executive Officer @ The OPEN Youth Trust, the founding project responsible for the national 'Myplace' funding stream, is based at the OPEN Venue in Norwich and has previously been nominated for 'Best Community Build in the World'. The Trust has been the recipient of the Queen's Award for Volunteering in 2005, for the work of the SOS bus and 2010 for the venue and has been the subject of several TV documentaries.
I was appointed CEO of the Open Youth Trust and its trading arm Closed Ltd in February 2010. Under my leadership I licenced the premises to introduce a live music programme to the venue making it one of the leading music venues in the Eastern region. Closed Ltd generates revenue streams through a variety of trading activities which include conferencing, tenancy and storage facilities in the former vaults of Barclay's founding branch iconic building. Under my leadership, I secured funding from a variety of sources which financed the various educational programmes which operate from the youth zones within the 50,000 square foot building. I stepped down as a founding Trustee to the OPEN Youth Trust in 2009 having served on the board from when it was formed in 2004.
My other professional interests include socially engineering change through education, health and community education. From 2010 to March 2013 (3 years) Vice Principal @ As Vice Principal at Burlington Danes Academy, Sarah demonstrated her personal commitment to the extended schools’ agenda and improving inner city education and proved her strategic leadership as well as her ability to lead and manage sustainable change. As part of the leadership team which achieved a ‘Good’ Ofsted judgement and is now 'outstanding', she identified aspects of the school systems which needed improvement, for example the clarity of roles and line management and worked with colleagues to develop systems and policies to embed positive change and restructure the academy. While leading on academic intervention through the introduction of rank orders and targeted additional classes for underperforming groups, GCSE results improved from 34% 5 A-C including maths and English in 2007 to 50% 5 A-C including maths and English 2009 which is 5% above the FFT D for this year, overall increasing the Key Stage 2-4 CVA from 986 in 2007 to 1022 in 2009. From 2007 to 2009 (2 years) Assistant Headteacher - Future Leaders Placement @ As Assistant Headteacher I gained insight into the systems Robert Clack School used to make it a high performing school placed in the top 5% nationally for value added and top 1% nationally for contextual value added. I was responsible for implementing the key stage 3 mentoring programme, the analysis of data, line management of the year 7, 8 and 9 Learning Community Leaders and SEN department, the school’s Specialist Mentoring status and the smooth day to day running of the lower school site which had over 900 staff and pupils. Under my leadership pupils at key stage 3 improved their overall level 5 performances by 13% in Maths, 14% in English and 15% in Science. Level 6 scores also rose dramatically in all three areas. I was part of the senior leadership team responsible for implementing the school’s motto of ‘Excellence for all. Excellence from all.’ and invested in the development of school systems that supported a relentless focus on all aspects of student achievement.
