Senior Director - Customers and Casework @ From January 2014 to Present (2 years) Head of Competition @ Reporting to the CEO and the Commission’s Board, I oversaw the day to day regulation, running and management of the Scottish competitive retail water market. The market is for all businesses and public sector bodies in Scotland, has an annual value of over £300m and is the first market of its kind anywhere in the world. As Head of Competition for the Commission (the economic regulator for the Scottish water industry) I was responsible for competition and market policy formulation including the preparation of public consultation documents, policy papers and technical documents for our CEO, the Commission’s Board and multiple stakeholders. I was therefore involved in all of the technical, policy and financial issues which related to the market. A key part of my role was also to inform and influence others, both inside and outside the organisation, as to the work of the Commission and the benefits of the retail market generally. From March 2011 to December 2013 (2 years 10 months) Senior analyst - competition @ Senior analyst in charge of the competition team within the Scottish water regulator. Responsible for overseeing all aspects of the first competitive water market in the world.
