I am currently working as an IT Contractor trading under Yellow Mouse Limited. In my previous post I co-founded Firefly Online limited. Worked from home I was solely responsible for the creation of the initial multi-tenanted web application that allows public sector bodies to register their contracts and purchasing frameworks, share them with other organisations, create custom forms (which can include pages, sections, controls and display as web forms based on the users design) to capture data that is specific to their needs. The application has also been used to manage suppliers and to allow the suppliers to log into the system and record information against the contracts awarded to them by the public sector bodies. In the latter part of 2012 we decided to re-write the application using the latest technologies (moving from ASP.NET Web Forms, Linq2Sql and SQL 2008R2 to ASP.NET MVC 4, NHibernate 3 (using Fluent NHibernate) and SQL 2012). In order to achieve the initial part of the re-write we needed to get 80% of the site functionality working in 6 months. To achieve this I recruited and managed a team of 5 contractors - all working from their own homes across the country - to re-write the application in the latest technology managing all aspects of the design, requirements specification, utilizing scrum and sprints to delver the application on time. I have a proven track record in project management, team leadership, an in depth knowledge of programming languages and practices, creating software, user experience and design patterns. I also have vast experience in talking to clients to gain requirements, prioritise and help remove those with low business value, demonstrating and managing expectations. I have previously held roles in software development and team leading at some of the UK's most recognised companies, The Boots Company Plc, Jet2.com, EWS (English & Welsh Railways) and C & J Clarks Limited.
