I'm a freelance design director, working with ground-breaking companies and forward thinking people to design experiences that add something valuable to our human experience.
Previously, I was a design director at Evernote, leading up our efforts on the new web app, Penultimate, Evernote Business, and Clearly. I've designed the Evernote homepage and various micro sites, the branding system for our apps for a new service in China and for new apps, and helped out with browser extensions, an e-reader, and even our Blackberry app.
Design Director @ I do whatever it takes to help companies ship their next big idea. From April 2015 to Present (9 months) Design Director @ I was the Design Director for Web, Evernote Business, and Penultimate. I led major new design initiatives for both the Evernote web app as well as Penultimate, the acclaimed handwriting app for iPad. Our apps were used (and loved) by over 100 million people across the world.
I helped our design team hire great people, run effective critiques, set internal standards of quality, stay organized, and just generally ship products that people love.
In the recent past at Evernote, I also worked on our homepage, Evernote Clearly, our branding system for China, the Web Clipper, design consistency across our products, toolkits for designers and developers - and a whole slew of other things. From August 2011 to May 2015 (3 years 10 months) Product Manager @ In early 2014 I took over as Product Manager for Penultimate, while still leading the design efforts. I was charged with reevaluating the medium and long term strategy of Penultimate and leading multiple dev cycles that led to the relaunched product.
I led a small team of 4 developers on rotating schedules, 1 QA engineer, 1 illustrator (part time), and 2 product designers, including myself. From January 2014 to November 2014 (11 months) Designer @ I have spent considerable time with small and medium size companies and startups offering everything from mobile app design to web design and development, to brand development and graphic design. From 2006 to January 2012 (6 years) Graphic/ Web Designer @ At Orchid I led the design of our core applications for event registration (web and kiosk), worked with multiple partners to design and develop microsites, owned the design and development of our corporate web presence, and led a full redesign of the company's brand.
