Designed and built a custom Data Access Layer that reduced development time needed to implement a web service from several days to several hours. Designed, built, and implemented a custom Unit Testing Framework that reduced Unit Test development time by a factor of 80%. Designed and implemented a secure suite of services that allowed members to view various healthcare related information, such their member card and their eligibility status. This suite pulled data from several different data sources, including a database, two data marts, and several web services. From June 2014 to August 2015 (1 year 3 months) Sr. Software Development Engineer (Contract with Community Health Plan of Washington) @ Set up Git and TFS 2013 as well as automated builds and deployments for the team. Mentored developers in how to use Git for source control and TFS for SCRUM items. Developed a database that contained patient records and insurance information. Developed a modular, work flow based File Importer console application to allow users to import EDI 834, 837 files as well as various CSV and XML files. The application is extensible and designed to process several million records at a time with minimal errors. Using MVC Web API, developed a RESTful Barcode delivery service that returns barcodes for all company systems, including mobile devices, web sites, and POS systems. This service can return barcodes in the consumer’s desired format, Error Correction Level, image type and gets hundreds of millions of hits per month. Developed and implemented an Application Settings RESTful service that returns configuration settings to a consumer. A consumer can either be a mobile device, web site, or HTTP capable client. The service returns the application settings either via XML and JSON and can be customized via parameters such as locale, market, etc. This service gets several hundred million hits per month. Using MVC Web API, completely redesigned and refactored Starbucks Passbook RESTful web service. This service allows customers to pay for beverages and food items from their iPhone. Also designed a scalable file/folder structure to store several million Passbook objects. This service gets several hundred million hits per month. Redesigned the company’s product catalog Data Access Layer to enable product updates to be performed from a common source. From December 2012 to November 2013 (1 year) Senior Software Development Engineer @ Developed and implemented a scalable document search solution that searched across multiple systems with an index of approximately 1.5 million records. Developed and implemented a Disaster Recovery Plan for the company’s Team Foundation Server instance. Using Windows Workflow Foundation, helped to develop a workflow engine to allow users to begin workflow driven processes, such as evictions, foreclosures, etc. Reduced transaction failure rates from 70% to 5% by fixing and enhancing the company’s transaction uploader system.
