I currently lead the Multiplayer Engineering Scrum Team for Forza Motorsport 7. The game launched worldwide on Xbox One, Xbox One X, and PC in the fall of 2017, to strong positive critical reviews with a Metacritic score of 87.In my role, I lead and collaborate with a crossfunctional multidisciplinary team of designers, artists, engineers and QA, and I am responsible for the Multiplayer experience in Forza 7 from end to end.In terms of user facing player experiences, I was instrumental in shipping the core FM7 multiplayer experience, including public matchmaking and private games, as well as the overall synchronization of game state and flow across up to 24 devices for Xbox and PC cross platform multiplayer gameplay. I was the engineering lead on the Leagues feature, which is our competitive ladder for online play. From a technical perspective, my contributions included moving our game server system to a multi-tenant configuration, which enabled a scalable number of multiplayer game session instances to all be hosted on a single virtual machine. This drove very significant server hosting cost savings. I replaced our in-game chat system with the Xbox Integrated Multiplayer game chat solution, resulting in a significant increase in quality and scalablity (the old system struggled to support more than 12 players, the new system handles 24 players reliably).I also led the effort to flight the first cross-platform closed beta for any Turn 10 title in the months leading up to the release of Forza Motorsport 7.Recently I have been working to support our Forza Racing Championship ESports initiative. My team has been delivering new features in each title update including the ability to Spectate live races, Telemetry and Broadcasting Overlays for a polished, professional streaming experience, and features for facilitating event management like the ability to customize starting grid layouts for each race.
