As CTO, I get involved in almost all aspects of the business. On a day-to-day basis I lead the technical team, ensuring the product vision is being achieved and helping to problem-solve, as well as committing to the code base (when I have time). I also deal with clients, both pre- and post-sale, fielding technical questions. This work involves me in the pitch stage of client acquisition as well. When the sale is made, I handle the conversations with other technology vendors to design and develop system integrations. It is also my task to grow the technical team, so spend time working with recruiters and candidates to build the company. From January 2012 to Present (3 years 11 months) London, United KingdomDirector and Developer @ A self-run development house, which focuses on building useful applications for both the desktop and the web. Clients range from startups to international firms. Internal projects include DoodleDesk, which was released onto the Mac App Store in January 2012. From July 2008 to Present (7 years 5 months) VP Technology @ idio's Content Marketing platform allows big brands to deliver personalised cross-channel content feeds to their customers, building customer relationships and detailed customer intelligence. As VP Technology, I work closely with both the Operations and Development teams to deliver the product roadmap efficiently, whilst maintaining a high output standard. The role also requires a deep understanding of the academic fields around our technology, which includes Natural Language Processing, Recommendation and Personalisation Systems, and Predictive Analytics. From February 2011 to January 2012 (1 year) Technical Lead @ My role consisted of general Web Development duties, maintaining and contributing to large social media based products, including social networks and social media analytics platforms. As well as this I played a role in improving coding standards practices for the team of developers and introducing new testing procedures. From September 2010 to February 2011 (6 months) Director and Developer @ Slicecake focussed on building a cutting-edge crowd-sourced music meta-data engine.
