Group Commercial Director @ Returning to the Hodson Bay Group after 4 years away, the Group Commercial Director role will lead the Hotel Group’s business development strategy to aggressively grow the organisation. With much evidence of strong growth and opportunity within the tourism and hospitality sector in Ireland, its an exciting time to reunite with the Board of Directors of one of Ireland's leading Hotel businesses. From June 2015 to Present (5 months) Athlone, Co. WestmeathCommercial Director - Digital @ From January 2014 to Present (1 year 10 months) Director of Commercial Revenue @ Responsibility for the Commerical Revenue and Ancillary Partner portfolio at Ryanair. Managing the Ancillary function at Ryanair to maximise the potential of the biggest Travel website in Europe, Ryanair.com, presents a unique challenge drawing on all the key competencies required to be successful at Europe's largest and fastest growing airline. From July 2011 to December 2013 (2 years 6 months) dublinCommerical Director @ Pre recession: focussed on re-positioning the Hotel Group to aggressively compete in a fast developing sector. Through the launch of Hodson Retreat and Spa followed by the successful introduction of the 1st Sheraton franchised hotel to Ireland, the Hotel Group achieved growth of over 60%.
Post Recession: focus swiftly switched to the optimisation of "people and processes" to maximise sales. Core to the commercial success the successful tracking of every enquiry into the business, from every channel, and b) the measurement of conversion performance of all customer facing functions across all properties.Record sales conversion resulted in a very tough economic climate for hospitality in particular. From 2006 to 2011 (5 years) UK Commercial Controller @ Green Isle Foods is one of the largest indigenous FMCG business’s in Ireland, operating in the frozen and chilled FMCG food sector across Ireland, the UK and Europe with brands such as Goodfellas, and Donegal Catch as well as selected own label positions. The company has a turnover of over €350 million and an industry leading profit position.
My role consisted of:
Growth of Brand and Own Label Business across UK Multiples via the commercial sales, NPD, Category Management and Marketing teams.
Brand Innovation: Commecial responsibility for Goodfella's next generation pizza and the
introduction of the innovation methodology to UK Multiple account processes.
Value Analysis Own Label: margin enhancement through the continuous re-engineering of the
