My passion is helping healthcare companies and organizations more effectively engage, improve health outcomes, and grow business with Hispanics and other multicultural consumers. Globally, I provide technical guidance to healthcare non-profits and researchers on public health program design and evaluation.
As a strategic consultant to managed care companies, for example, I design and implement multicultural strategies that enhance communications, improve quality measures and grow market share in anticipation of the health insurance exchanges. I have also led strategic consulting and research projects for large non-profits, hospital systems, pharmaceutical companies, and state health agencies, all of which were seeking to address disparities, control costs and/or grow sales with Hispanics.
The insights and skills I bring to these projects draw on 25 years of experience: (a) teaching and publishing research on how to change health behaviors among multicultural populations, (b) co-founding and building HolaDoctor, Inc into the largest online community for Spanish-speaking health consumers in the world, and (c) designing and evaluating healthcare programs in the U.S., Latin America and Southeast Asia.
