My role is extremely varied, but is not limited to: - Release management - deploying the software produced by various development teams with Equity Derivatives IT - Capacity management - provisioning, decommissioning, capacity analysis) - Technical consultancy - I work closely with development teams to help them to select the best technology and infrastructure for their application, from the catalogue available at Credit Suisse. - Strategic software development to assist in the day to day role, e.g. I recently wrote a piece of software to monitor capacity on all servers within Equity Derivatives, which allows us to accurately plan capacity for the forthcoming year From June 2011 to Present (4 years 7 months) London, United KingdomHigh Performance Computing @ Working within a small team, I was responsible for an estate of over 3000 mission-critical servers used to calculate intra-day and nightly risk for all key business units within the bank. Key achievements and responsibilities included: - Day to day management of a large server estate, utilising strategically written scripts to assist in management and fire-fighting. - Completely redesigned and implemented the bank's analytics deployment mechanism to the compute grids, replacing legacy scripts with supported, tried and tested technologies. - Implemented an asset management database to accurately manage servers within the compute grids. I later extended this to include performance data, which was then used to manage capacity on the grids. - Tutoring of graduates that joined the team. From July 2009 to June 2011 (2 years) London, United KingdomSystem Analyst @ Working within a team of five, I was responsible for third line support of all WIndows Server infrastructure within Goldman Sachs EMEA. Key acheivements and responsibilities included: - Maintained and performance monitored 5k Windows XP desktops, whilst in use by Goldmans traders. - Maintained and performance monitored 1k Windows 2003 mission-critical servers. - Project managed two new office setups from a Windows Infrastructure perspective. Included designing workstation builds and writing group policies to suit. - Scripted large scale deployments of Reuters and Bloomberg market data software to over 1000 desktops, including fully-automated checkout and failed install remediation. - Wrote a number of scripts in high pressure crisis situations to provide solutions to ongoing incidents. From January 2006 to May 2009 (3 years 5 months) Systems Analyst @ Working within a team of five I was responsible for 3rd line support of a 70 server and 160 user Windows 2000 / 2003 Active Directory network, and took a technical lead on a large proportion of Alea’s system project work. From July 2005 to December 2005 (6 months) IT Analyst @ Working within a team of six Support Analysts, I was responsible for the 2nd and 3rd line support and maintenance of a 5000 user, 160 site Windows 2003 Active Directory network. I was also part of a small team that managed a multiple site migration from Windows NT4 to Windows 2003.
