From August 2014 to Present (1 year 5 months) Precinct Commercial Manager @ Project: Moorebank Units Relocation – Holsworthy Army Base The Moorebank Units Relocation project in Sydney's southwest will see Laing O'Rourke deliver the largest single Australian Defence capital works project since the Second World War. As part of the upgrade works, a number of Defence units based at Moorebank will move to new, purpose-built, best-practice facilities at the base in Holsworthy. The project is split into 5 Precincts each with its own project team. Upon completion, the re-established site at Holsworthy will contain the new, modern facility for the Army's School of Military Engineering, Land Warfare Centre, the Army Logistics Training Centre and various other operational and support units. From September 2012 to March 2014 (1 year 7 months) Sydney, AustraliaSenior Quantity Surveyor @ Project: Water Treatment Plant – S.W Queensland The Contract scope involved the engineering, procurement and construction of a Water Treatment Plant and the related infrastructure for the Northern gas fields in South West Queensland. Working in conjunction with the 90 person strong design team and liaising with all disciplines (Structural, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Process) to represent the project team commercially while working with the lead designers on a daily basis to monitor and capture change and monitor the contract requirements of the design process reporting to the Project Commercial Manager on a regular basis. Project: Data Centre – Eastern Creek SYD In a first of its kind project in Australia – LORAC worked closely with it's Client to deliver a state of the art Data Centre that will house two 2300m2 data halls and service major organisations throughout Australia. Tasked with working side by side with the client to deliver value for money and other project commercial goals within a tight project timeframe. From January 2011 to January 2013 (2 years 1 month) Quantity Surveyor @ Project: Building the Education Revolution (Government stimulus package upgrading the public primary schools throughout the Riverina and Western Region of NSW) Throughout my time on this Management Contracting project I was based in Griffith in regional NSW as the Contracts Administrator/Quantity Surveyor tasked with overseeing the commercial aspects of 51 schools within the Griffith region. (within 300 km radius of Griffith) This involved working with a dedicated LORAC team in Griffith, handling tasks from procurement of Delivery Partners right through to hand-over of the project to the our client, the DET and the NSW Government. From August 2009 to January 2011 (1 year 6 months) Quantity Surveyor @ Project: C1-301 Luas Rail works - (Structures to enable extension of Dublin's Light Rail system) Main contractor for two separate but related contracts to extend Dublin’s light rail system from its current terminus at Connolly Station on to the Point Depot, with a new railway bridge at Spencer Dock Dublin The second contract which I was focused on, involved building a new post-tensioned bridge over the Royal Canal at Spencer dock to carry the new light railway. The iconic bridge also serves as a crossing and viewing point for pedestrians. As well as the bridge superstructure, this contract also involved all of the substructure works for the bridge (including piling, abutments, bridge piers and so on), safety barriers, balustrades and bridge lighting.
