Managing Editor @ From November 2015 to Present (2 months) Director, National Council for Black Studies @ The National Council for Black Studies (NCBS) is the leading organization of Black Studies professionals in the world. For more than 40 years our members have been at the forefront of driving the development of Black/Africana Studies as a respected academic discipline. Our commitment to putting theory into practice, however, has also led us to the front lines of community issues throughout the African Diaspora. Our guiding philosophy is that education should engender both academic excellence and social responsibility. Our members include top scholars, community leaders and students focused on a variety of issues related to the African World experience. From February 2015 to Present (11 months) Vice President (Volunteer) @ Vice President for a networking group that brings together professionals of African origin and individuals interested in Africa. APNET provides the platform to network, create partnerships, educate the youth, and share ideas while becoming a resource for the group and the African community. APNET creates Networking, Business and Community Engagement (N.B.C) Opportunities and offers a way for members to link their personal passions with professional ambitions to create a platform for community improvement through collaborative efforts. From 2012 to Present (3 years) Manager, Adult Programs @ Responsible for the design, development, coordination, and implementation of Museum's public programs, including planning cultural festivals that focused on world cultures. I hired vendors, performers, coordinated volunteers, planned logistics and managed all aspects of event production. From November 2007 to February 2015 (7 years 4 months) Adminstrator (Volunteer) @ As ED for a start-up social enterprise, I help implement strategic goals and objectives of our organization and give direction toward fulfilling its mission. Our mission is to help Africans successfully settle in America and to help reduce poverty in Africa by driving economic growth through trade and investment. American SME looking at expansion should look to Africa. I am also the conference chair for the Annual AF-USA Business Summit..
