During this time, I gained valuable experience in brand experience, events, promotions, and field marketing From March 2002 to March 2003 (1 year 1 month) Public Relations Manager @ Managing all PR activity for the 2003 international skateboarding event, Australia’s biggest ever. My responsibilities included driving awareness, ticket sales. and managing the 10-strong media team at the event. My goal was also to build positive public perception of skateboarding as a sport and lifestyle, and to enhance the profile of Globe International Ltd. From October 2002 to February 2003 (5 months) Founding Editor ‘yen’ magazine @ I joined the Channel Stu (now Paper Tiger) team as founding editor of yen magazine, a new magazine dedicated to a different kind of woman. Responsible for structure, contributions, design/identity, and delivery of the launch issue. From March 2002 to August 2002 (6 months) Business Development Director @ A member of the start-up team for Planet X China the first youth sports and lifestyle brand to establish a presence in China. I also worked as part of the business development team for Planet X Europe, based in London. From January 2002 to March 2002 (3 months) Planet X Communications Manager @ In this role: Communications Manager for Planet X, then Australia’s No.1 youth, extreme sports and lifestyle brand, my goals were to generate national awareness of the Planet X youth brand; awareness and ticket sales for the Planet X Summer & Winter Xtreme Games multi-sport events; deliver audience to the weekly Planet X TV program (Network Ten); and contribute to the development and deployment of Planet X media properties and licensed products.
