📖 Summary

Super-Creative, Internet mind. Entrepreneur. Proactive. Manage IT Department. Manage and Develop/Code interesting Internet projects. (high load, worldwide) Hands on CTO. Silicon Valley fan. Background: I created a messenger before any other exist (only icq) in 1996. Had games vs other players, P2P files sending with resume, voice msgs, social, modding... One license was sold to a very important bank and customized for the ticketing selling system (both client and server) and is still being used :) Founded In2Internet. In 1995 I created the first e-Commerce ticketing system for events through the Internet at European level (USA was first). I developed it with Linux, Apache and C++, and I created my own dynamic pages system. Later I ported it to Microsoft IIS and Visual C++ (cgi). I was interviewed in TV Catalan television cause I was the manager of the Internet area of the Doctor Music Festival. I have been interviewed in radios cause I won a spanish state level contest and because I taught microsoft Internet solutions to 100 students in an event organised by the Galician government when I worked for volkswagen. I was one of the founders of SoftCatala.org and helped translating to Catalan the first localised version of Netscape in Europe. I'm very good at Internet Software Architecture and Development, in Scalable Systems, Managing Projects and Teams, negotiating with customers and providers. I think in multilanguage in my projects. I like to investigate in deep technologies. I Consult several companies and Start ups across the world. Remote and on-site. Ask to know where I am. :) Probably I can find security issues / hack your company web. European Headhunters: Available for short Contracts on-site or remote, from 1 W, or Permanent. CTO, Head of Development, Lead, Architect, Developer. US companies: Please note I'm in Europe & I don't own a green card. Investors: looking for projects to invest?. I do not work for porno, nor casinos. Thanks.CTO @ I'm proud to be working with an awesome Team, growing an amazing Project that puts order and makes things right in the mobile advertising sector. :) Wired magazine: http://www.wired.co.uk/magazine/archive/2015/09/features/100-hottest-european-startups-2015-barcelona From September 2015 to Present (4 months) Founder, CTO and Java Senior Developer @ C-Client is a tool for communicating in a safe way. It is written in Java and is multi-platform. Thinked from professionals to professionals, but very friendly for all the public. It allows to communicate with friends and colleagues at work, and to work with all your devices and copy files from one to another. Originary created to allow me to communicate with my friends in a private, healthy way and avoiding the big companies keeping the messages forever, marketing and spying us... It has features like secure chat, secure file-sending (with resume), groups chat, knowing the Ip of your devices, the free space on disk... It has several type of Client roles: - C-Client The normal Messenger program. - Users The users using C-Client - C-Agent Agent for Servers, it is used to control your Servers, know info and do actions. - C-Robot A robot is a program that allows you to interact with it - C-App The Apps are programs that render windows for you and have some program logic. Apps can be consumed from C-Client It has a version that is public with some features for free and improved features by payment subscription, and a version for companies that want to run their own messenger server internally or in the Internet. Public version is still in beta. Currently works with Linux (Gnome, KDE, unity), Mac, and windows. 32 and 64 bit. Of course I use NoSql for no limit scaling. :) I have the experience of having created the very first Messenger in 1996 (only icq existed and was very different concept), and some more Tcp/Udp/CS/P2P software over the years. From January 2014 to Present (2 years) CTO @ CTO and founder of CMIPS.NET Cloud Million Instructions Per Second. We measure Cloud Performance to help Start ups to take the right decisions. We take instances from different Cloud providers and we compare: - CPU/RAM Performance - Disk/Storage Performance - Bandwidth - Time to spawn a new instance, for scaling up - Price per hour, month, six months and yearly So we test instances from main players: Amazon, RackSpace, GoGrid, Linode, Digital Ocean, CloudSigma, Azure... Those results are compared to dedicated servers, to provide the whole picture on performance and costs. Measurements are taken with CMIPS, an small program that I write in C++, that measures the overall performance of CPU + RAM speed, according to multi-core nowadays Servers isolating the cache aspect of the hypervisors. Tests are automated through Cloud Init User Data deployment scripts for those providers that support it (main target for Startups willing to AutoScale). From March 2013 to December 2013 (10 months) Barcelona Area, SpainHead of PHP Development @ I'm the Head of PHP Development / Chief Architect /CTO hands on in this great project. I'm working in a technological unique project at European level that will be a great hit for the industry. At the beginning I Consulted them in PHP Development, Internet Security and Cloud technologies and I gave Direction many business ideas and functionaly ideas that are now under development. :) I detected and fixed several security issues, re-factorised blocks of code and class structure, so after this successful experience, they asked me to join their team as Head of PHP Development and to co-lead the entire project. Now I manage the development, this critical area, with a team of great developers front/back. It's a role with the best of everything: I manage people and sprint stories, I give very appreciated ideas to Business, but It's a hands on role: I code, I do analysis, I architect the solution, I develop new functionalities and use my expertise to find and fix bugs and guide and teach the Team. :) I'm responsible of the creation of the abstraction layer to Auto-Scale and to deploy to multi-unix distros, archs and multi-cloud. It's specially great that I designed the internals (database models and how everything runs) and take care of aspects like scalability, growing, sharding... that made us being competing for the first positions on the Cloud Management products worldwide. The last two days I teached them on how to develop Drupal 7 modules accessing Databse. After this they hired me as PHP Development Consultant and I guide the team on certain tasks of the main project, remotely from Barcelona. I manage the Backlog with the Product Manager, and define the sprint together. There is a change in the company's culture involved, from each department giving inefficiently tons of work unordered to IT, to work for IT that is the central intelligence that coordinates all the efforts of the departments and the agenda. F.e.: the marketing campaigns must match the product specs and development timeline, the designs must fit the functionalities and adapt to multiple devices like mobile, tablet, different resolution screens. I perform this via Scrum/Agile methodology and Sprint planning and meetings to see the projected tasks, and do suggestions, corrections and take correct key decisions (thanks to previously years of continued studying). Technologies: OOP, PHP, MySQL, LAMP, several caches, multilanguage... I work with one of the promoters of the PHP Conference, and with full of coworkers that own blogs, do innovative projects, etc... so it's a very interesting and stimulating environment. I also send and discuss business ideas with management regularly. :-) I was one of the 7 people that discovered exploits in the atrapalo's web for the atrapalo's hacking internal contest, so I earned my ticket to partipate in the contest where we spent a day with pizza's and looking for more hacks. I found several more including SQL injects and XSS attacks. ;) From November 2011 to June 2012 (8 months) Head of PHP Development @ We make social games for Facebook platform. We develop with cutting edge cloud technologies in a fast growing, high demand, environment. I was responsible of the SSL purchase and deploy (load balancers and CDNs) to meet the new 1th October new FB oAuth2.0 changes and of the upgrades of databases. I started documentation for processes and operations and instructed the developers several good practices as documenting (like: /** * @author carles.mateo * @desc config file for each environment. In development there is one, in production another. Do not overwrite. * @since 2011-08-25 * @package Config */ and remarks indicating issues and particularities and what's doing every piece of code so the team doesn't get confused f.e. with Facebook callbacks), use prefix for var types to avoid errors, NOT to use reserved words for fields in the databases (as `user`, `select`, `object`...), to check always against SQL injections, avoid writting 100+K in each single http request to the database, I proposed and developed a way to compress serialized objects stored in the database so we save 70% of amazon's database overhead (the main cloud overhead is in the data storage and the bandwith communication betweens sans and servers, not in the servers, so reduzing IO you dramatically increase server response and speed)... I talked to the db solution providers in order do base server upgrades, base sw upgrades, add new schemas, fix problems.. (explain what virtual servers are, crons, NAS storage, blades, ETL needs, problems like the slowlyness of using ODBC technologies...) I work 90% with Open Source technologies but my knowledge in Microsoft Servers, IIS/NET and Sql Server allow the company to save resources in projects as the balanced scoreboards. Core Senior Developer in PHP in the very selected Development Team of the selling webpages through the world. Scrum/Agile, PHP, Zend, MySQL, Stored Procedures, Sql injection, Json, Ajax, Smarty, memcached, global cloud web cache systems, high load systems (milions of users) with distributed architecture and webfarms... I was one of the 5 Core Devs. that created the BackEnd website, for all the countries, for privalia. Founder and leader of the Team "PENSA-HIT" (Thinking impact), a group of very creative and talented people in IT, that throught individual thinking and brainstormings deliver ideas directly to CEO.
