📖 Summary
Technical Director @ [email protected] Real Time Genomics, Inc. is a leading genomics company providing solutions for sequence data processing and analysis to researchers, diagnostics laboratories and the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. The company's services and products are based on innovative algorithms that work directly on the primary data generated by all major sequencing platforms. RTG’s algorithms and engineering-driven approach provide the foundation for integrated bioinformatics analysis pipelines for whole genome, exome, and amplicon sequencing applications and a comprehensive pipeline for metagenomics. Real Time Genomics’ algorithms deliver superior sensitivity, accuracy and speed to complex genomic analysis problems in fields such as cancer, inherited diseases, pathogen detection and agrogenomic research. From March 2009 to Present (6 years 10 months) President, Scientific Operations @ ModGene is a genomics-based biotechnology startup with a focus on identifying novel therapeutics for neurodegenerative and neuropsychiatric diseases. The company utilizes a series of complementary technologies with a genomics platform that integrates genetics, gene expression and mouse behavioral and phenotypic data for genetic modifier discovery, drug target validation, and screening. From January 2007 to March 2009 (2 years 3 months) Director of Research @ Neurome commercialized genomics and software technologies from The Scripps Research Institute for gene expression analysis and 3D reconstruction of mouse brain images. The platform delivered high resolution spatial and quantitative information on molecular markers and gene expression data for drug target discovery projects. Revenue-generating research collaborations were established with Merck, Lilly, Elan and Wyeth pharmaceutical companies. At Neurome, I led R&D efforts to develop a new drug discovery platform to identify drug targets for neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative disorders. I also managed neuroscience and molecular biology groups (15 people) for gene expression and neuroanatomical research collaborations. From August 2004 to January 2007 (2 years 6 months) Vice President, Discovery Biology @ I joined DGT in 1995 as its first scientist and worked together with the CSO and company founder to automate and commercialize the PCR-based gene expression profiling technology known as TOGA. The company launched technology services in 1997 by initiating a research collaboration with Immunex Corporation. DGT established numerous scientific collaborations through an academic program focused on providing early access to its gene expression platform. As Vice President, DIscovery Biology, I led molecular biology and bioinformatics teams and directed all aspects of the TOGA technology commercial genomics operation and had responsibility for 65 people. From February 1999 to August 2004 (5 years 7 months) Director, Molecular Biology @ From February 1998 to January 1999 (1 year) Associate Director, Molecular Biology @ From February 1997 to January 1998 (1 year) Staff Scientist @ From December 1995 to January 1997 (1 year 2 months) Postdoctoral Fellow RIMB @ From September 1991 to June 1995 (3 years 10 months) Ph.D., Neurobiology @ Stony Brook University From 1985 to 1991 BS, Molecular and Cellular Biology @ University of Washington From 1979 to 1983 Brian Hilbush is skilled in: Bioinformatics, Genomics, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, DNA sequencing, Informatics, Genetics, Molecular Genetics, Biochemistry, Drug Discovery, Cancer, Sequencing, Start-ups, Oncology, PCR, Cell Culture, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Industry, DNA Sequencing
