I am a capable and motivated programmer driven by a lifelong love of technology and a deep desire to grow continuously. My career work has been focused heavily on designing, implementing, and maintaining complex, large-scale back end systems, but I am no stranger to front-end development and take great pride in my Javascript knowledge/abilities. I am extremely comfortable working on all parts of the stack.
I have an intense desire to learn new technologies and build amazing things. I spend quite a bit of my free time working on personal projects and I frequently collaborate with other developers who share my enthusiasm for coding. My most recent project is a real-time multiplayer action game capable of hosting multiple simultaneous and independent game sessions of up to 4 players each. The game was built entirely using javascript and has been used by many developers from around the world as a learning resource. My creations are visible and playable on my github profile (https://github.com/ahung89).
Software Engineer @ I was a primary contributor in the design and implementation of a newly launched pricing recommendation system for sellers, which involves analyzing thousands of pricing events from multiple sources every second and consolidating this with data related to Amazon's pricing trends. I also helped engineer systems that compute complex seller performance metrics from massive datasets to display alongside these tailored pricing recommendations.
In addition to my back-end contributions to the project, I led the design and implementation of the sleek single-page user interface for the application, which surfaces these recommendations to our customers and presents them with visualizations of their sales performance/price competitiveness. The page earned a 10/10 average customer satisfaction rating from sellers in the first two weeks after launch (collected via the "Rate my Page" tool). I built a system for capturing all client-side user actions on the page and aggregating the results in SQL-based datasets that our business intelligence team uses for seller behavior analysis.
Currently, I am working on both the front end and back end of a new intelligent pricing system that monitors pricing/inventory/sales events across the entirety of Amazon's catalog and processes these events in real time. From December 2013 to Present (2 years 1 month) Greater Seattle AreaSoftware Engineer @ I was a major contributor in the design, development, and maintenance of the company's core geolocation service, which the entire company depends on to make sure that rentals are automatically mapped to and displayed in the appropriate geographical regions. I built various visual map-based tools used daily by the internal geo-administrator team to audit and improve data quality.
I participated in a company-wide hackathon and built a unique debugging tool (using D3.js) that plots service metrics alongside error/exception metrics extracted from logs. The tool creates interactive visualizations that can be modified in real time using search queries and regex expressions. My partner and I won 3rd place in the hackathon. From May 2012 to October 2013 (1 year 6 months) Austin, Texas Area
