I have almost 20 years’ experience as a solutions developer, engineer, consultant, technical architect, team leader, project manager and technical director.
I began my career in telecoms as a (business intelligence) management consultant under the ex-chief of IBM EMEA in 1995 before bring headhunted by Open Text in 1996 to develop and support document management and workflow solutions. I joined Getronics in 1999 working onsite at British Airways.
In 2001 at SGi, I led the portal technologies team at JP Morgan Chase, NHS Trusts and local councils building asset management solutions and Commerce and CMS systems using Microsoft technologies. In 2004 I managed the setup of a Service Centre and I pioneered the eHR system for Central Government (RCU and John Prescott’s ODPM/DCLG dept.).
By 2005, I was building ecommerce and CRM apps and by late 2010 I built the HR flexible benefits portal prototype for KPMG’s blue-chip clients. In 2011, I helped build the prosperity.com and li.com websites for a famous think tank The Legatum Institute in Mayfair, London, headed by Radio Free Europe’s ex-CEO Jeffrey Gedmin and the billionaire Christopher Chandler.
In 2012, I became the advisor and chief technical consultant to the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania, namely Hon. MP January Makamba, Minister of Information, Science & Technology developing anti-corruption web and mobile projects. In the same year I was consulting Push Media’s TV and Radio dashboard to analyse advertising data (viewed adverts) on over 100 TV and radio stations throughout East Africa; plus conducting other real-time projects such as an integrated online hotel reservations systems for hotel chains.
Since 2013 I have been an IT Business Systems Manager and business process engineer and consultant working in the electronics manufacturing sector in Shenzhen, managing the infrastructure for ERP and business systems.

• In charge of the web projects for the Legatum Institute, Mayfair, London on the Prosperity Index (PROSPERITY.COM) application and Sitefinity CMS website (LI.COM). From June 2011 to August 2012 (1 year 3 months) Solutions Consultant @ • Invented the eHR web application for Central Government (RCU & GO’s) with almost 10,000+ users. eHR is an employee management system integrated with finance and payroll. The new HR service centre and software saved RCU £2million pa on admin costs. In 2002 ODPM & RCU had a £9billion budget to deliver strategies and local policy to regional government offices and their communities. I built business applications using VB.NET upgraded to C# and ASP.NET, ADO.NET with centralised data to a SQL Server farm upgraded from Access 1997 remote applications.
• Designed, normalized and created the backend database and objects including tables, keys, indexes, triggers, stored procedures and complex SQL queries using T-SQL, which later changed to entity relationship technology and LINQ to SQL;
• Created presentation layers using Visual Studio .NET, CSS, Adobe Photoshop and responsive design techniques with Telerik controls, themes and Kendo; and developed the middle-tier COM components and Web Services for the app, later upgraded to MVC.
• Adopted Prince2 and SSADM methodologies for .NET projects. Set up 3-tier architecture for production and testing with Web, Application and Database servers. Also assisted in presales, project management, consultation, testing, training, helpdesk support and account managing.
• Compiled project docs: Use Cases (UML) and flow diagrams (VISIO); Requirements, Technical & Functional Specs, SLA’s, Support & Maintenance Contracts, User Guides & Test Script Generation. Organised, managed, scripted and coordinated UAT, systems, unit and regression Testing. Budgeted and managed projects using Microsoft Project and Gant Chart analysis and later Agile techniques.
