A graduate of the University of Birmingham and post-graduate of the University of Chichester, I am currently working with Surrey County Cricket Club as an integral part of their performance analysis team. With my interest in sports analysis initially sparked through my undergraduate degree, I gained further insight and appreciation through a Masters course which included working within an elite organisation. From there, I have contributed throughout the 2014 season and into 2015 by working full-time with players and coaches in furthering the preparation and evaluation of matches, as well as player performance.Team Analyst @ • Part of the analysis team within Surrey CCC as a MSc intern for the 2013 season, then joining the contracted staff for 2014, and the Division 2 winning 2015 season. • Filmed and assisted in pre-season preparations leading up to the start of the outdoor seasons. • Recorded and coded all home games at the Kia Oval and Guildford CC for the 1st XI using Feedback Cricket, as well as Surrey's 2013 and 2014 T20 semi-finals and final at Edgbaston, and 2015 one-day final at Lord's. • Contributed strongly to the formation of pre-match reports based on team, player, and ground analysis. • Liaised with both coaches and players to provided statistically relevant and desired information. • Analysed and presented post-season reviews of 2013 and 2014, comparing Surrey as a unit against successful performers elsewhere throughout the year. • Created and managed a significant database of files, linking past and present work throughout the season. • Interacted with internal and external media outlets in the creation of highlights packages. From May 2013 to Present (2 years 8 months) Undergraduate Student Researcher @ • As part of the ongoing relationship between the University of Birmingham and Aston Villa Football Club, I completed my dissertation using data obtained from members of Aston Villa’s Academy team. • With the project entitled ‘Analysis of Movement Patterns Before and After a Sprint Using GPS Data in Soccer’, I worked with both staff from the University and Aston Villa, playing a significant role in the formulation of the study, researching background topics, as well as dealing with large data sets when interpreting results. From October 2012 to May 2013 (8 months) Leisure Assistant @ • Working as an on-duty lifeguard within the leisure complex, facilitating both recreational and competitive swimming, in addition to maintaining safety and training measures. • Also worked as a sports hall attendant dealing with activity set-up, and in customer service and well-being. From August 2011 to May 2013 (1 year 10 months) Group Assistant / Lifeguard @ • Supervising, organising, and leading activities during the camp ranging from football to scientific experiments, as well as outdoor pool lifeguarding. • Held responsible for children ranging from 5 to 15 years of age throughout the day, as well as regularly communicating with parents and other members of staff.
