Recruiting developers (and using LinkedIn) since 2005, I work hard to identify key talent and present a shortlist of applicants for roles. Quality over quantity is reflected in an interview to offer ratio of 3.5:1 (every 3.5 interviews you arrange with me, you will make 1 offer).

It was really successful (over 30 people attended the 1st event!), and when I mentioned this to a Brazilian friend (Rodrigo) he was keen to start a group for Portuguese speaking developers. I've since grown this to 6 meetup groups; alongside Italian & Portuguese there are also groups for developers speaking Spanish, Polish, French and also a group for South African developers.
From events that started as a 'pint in the pub' we have grown this to include technical talks to start each event in conjunction with our partner, Telerik, here in Central London. We don't forget our roots though - we always head to the pub at the end of the evening! We also hold periodic events (CV Workshops / Drinks / Conferences) where our members can engage with other communities.
