The African American Firefighter Museum is dedicated to the collection, conservation and sharing of the pioneering heritage of African American Firefighters in the Los Angeles and throughout the United States. Founded in 1997, the museum is housed at old fire station #30, located at 1401 Central Avenue near downtown Los Angeles. It was one of two fire stations that housed Black firefighters under segregated conditions between 1924-1955.
The Museum is strictly volunteer and donation driven. We are always looking for volunteers to assist us with the operations of the Museum.
