The VIPS program seeks first-rate volunteers to take on tasks in partnership with the men and women of the Denver Police Department serving the citizens of the Denver Metropolitan area. We seek to provide volunteers with rewarding and challenging positions, which enhances the capacity of the Police Department to make Denver a better and safer city.
In 2016, 251 volunteers gave 26,272 hours to the Denver Police Department. The value of these hours equals $618,968 in savings for the City and County of Denver. Since the beginning of the VIPS Program in 2004, volunteers have given 421,106 hours, totaling a savings of more than $9.9 million.
Established in 2004, the mission of our program is to deliver high quality public safety support services to the sworn and civilian employees of the Denver Police Department, in order to provide an exceptionally safe and healthy environment for all.
