The Town of Mount Pleasant is a vibrant suburban municipality located along the South Carolina coast. It is the fourth largest municipality in the State with a population of 78,988 residents, and continues to grow. The U.S. Census Bureau named Mount Pleasant the 10th fastest-growing city in the nation in 2015. Mount Pleasant has attracted national attention and was named as one of the top 50 cities to live in the U.S. by 24/7 Wall Street report in 2016. Mount Pleasant is one of the few municipalities nationwide with accredited Police (1992), Fire (2001), and Planning (2013) Departments. Mount Pleasant has received recognition for 26 consecutive years by the Government Finance Officers Association for excellence in Financial Reporting.
