SRI VIJAYA VISAKHA MILK PRODUCERS COMPANY LTD (VISAKHA DAIRY)

Sri Vijaya Visakha Milk Producers Company Ltd., (more popularly known as “Visakha Dairy”), was established in the year 1966. The registered office of the Company is situated at Akkireddipalem, Visakhapatnam. Visakha Dairy is having state of the art integrated Dairy unit at Akkireddipalem, Visakhapatnam with a handling capacity of 6 lakh litres of milk per day and at Rangampeta, near Rajahmundry with a handling capacity of 2 lakh litres.Visakha Dairy is selling all variants of milk i.e Whole Milk, Standard Milk, Toned Milk, Double Toned Milk, (Pasteurized, Homogenised, non-homogenised), extended shelf life milk (in Elecster Packing) upto 30 days, long shelf life milk upto 180 days (in Tetrapak) and major products being Curd, Butter Milk, Lassi, Flavoured Milk, Ghee, Butter, Panneer, Skimmed Milk Powder, khova, Sweet Curd, other Sweets, Cattle feed etc. Visakha Dairy has set up dairy with a milk processing capacity of 1.00 Lakh litres per day and registered under A.P.State Co-operative Societies Act in 1973. The society was converted into Mutually Aided Cooperative Act., 1995 with effect from 08.07.1999. Visakha Dairy has undertaken various capex programmes from time to time and increased the capacity to meet the growing demand and the operations, business activity spread beyond Andhra Pradesh. With the Economic Liberalisation in 1991, competition increased and Govt. of India considering the fact that the co-operative societies are unable to grow inspite of market demand, availability of milk due to their limited financial and marketing resources, education and access to advanced technology vis a vis private competition, introduced Producer Companies Act. To reflect the multi state nature of business operations, to bring in more operational and administrative efficiencies, Visakha Dairy was converted into Producers Companies Act in 2006 and the name was changed to “SRI VIJAYA VISAKHA MILK PRODUCERS COMPANY LTD”.
