The COPM

The Canadian Occupational Performance Measure (COPM) is an individualized measure of a client’s self-perception of problems encountered in occupational performance. The COPM is an outcome measure that aims to promote high quality, occupation-focused, evidence-based, client-centred practice. The COPM was first published in 1991, subsequent to beta-testing. Since that time, it has been the subject of well over 500 articles in peer-reviewed international literature. It has been adopted in Canada and around the world and has been translated into 36 languages. Research continues to explore the COPM and learn more about its use in practice, in research and in administration.
