Owner Ray Bowes has always had an interest in mechanical work, owed in large part to his father. However, after beginning work at Firestone, and eventually becoming store manager, Bowes confirmed that automotive work was his true passion. He opened the doors to Shirlington Shell Service Center in 1972, and, for the past 45 years, has provided dependable and professional automotive service to Arlington, VA and its surrounding areas. Ray’s son Brian has also been in business with the family-owned and operated company for over 20 years! Today, Shirlington Shell Service Center is a Napa Auto Care Center, a member of the Arlington Chamber of Commerce, the Virginia Automotive Association, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. In addition to providing factory scheduled maintenance and full service automotive repair, Shirlington Shell Service Center also offers Virginia State Safety and Emissions Inspections, and is a Certified Emissions Repair facility.
