Marine Mammals Of Maine (MMOME)

Marine Mammals of Maine (MMOME) is the only triage center for marine animals on the east coast. MMOME provides response, assistance and care to stranded marine animals in the southern and mid-coast areas of Maine (Kittery to Rockland). We have a Stranding Agreement with NOAA Fisheries and an experienced volunteer animal response team. MMOME is a 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organization as defined by the IRS. We rely heavily on private financial support for our operational costs. Our goals encompass collaboration with partner organizations to aid in the protection and support of marine animals as defined by the Marine Mammal Protection Act and we strive to provide public education about marine animals and the environment. MMoME has an active Board of Directors and an Executive Director. Together, we have over 100 years experience working with marine animals in Maine.
