Indigo Arts Alliance is committed to the artistic development of citizens of color. A place where freedom of self-expression and personal transformation through creativity is exchanged.
IAA is the outgrowth of a collaboration between Daniel and Marcia Minter, who saw the need for an arts “incubator” in Portland, Maine, for professional and emerging artists of African descent with an open door to all people of color.
Indigo Arts Alliance will be an innovative hybrid of studio spaces for artists residencies with communal work space that facilitates collaboration, IAA provides an environment for the production of artwork in all media across disciplines. It is intended for professional, emerging artists and students of art to learn, explore and grow their work in a creative atmosphere.
Experienced creatives in visual art, music and the performing arts will hone their craft while exploring new ideas. Indigo will serve to integrate the arts and humanities into the fabric of everyday life offering workshops, seminars and symposiums. Opens April 2019!
