Barking Gecko Theatre is a professional Western Australian theatre company specialising in remarkable theatre productions for children, teens and families. Since 1991, Barking Gecko has earned an international reputation for excellence and innovation, and has delighted audiences throughout Australia, Canada, Korea, Mexico, Singapore and USA. Barking Gecko creates productions for audiences aged 6 to 106! It is also the place for young people to explore their creativity through joining the Gecko Ensembles. Often a Barking Gecko theatre production is a child's first experience of live theatre. Barking Gecko's productions offer a chance to gather in the theatre and meet characters that are not just like us. Every year our audiences giggle, gasp, caper, cheer, weep, shriek, question, imagine and leave the theatre understanding the world, themselves and others a little more. The Company has made over 80 theatre productions, toured 6 countries, appeared in 15 Perth International Arts Festivals, received numerous awards and reaches over 30,000 people every year.
