Lite the Nite, a manufacturer of innovative landscape light solutions, was first created through the vision of the former President/COO and Senior VP of Sales at Intermatic Incorporated. During their careers, these two pioneering individuals led the charge of growing landscape lighting throughout the country. In the 1960’s a small landscape lighting manufacturer in California was acquired simply to help sell more timers. The name “Malibu” was then branded. During the 1970s, independent electrical distributors and national hardware chains were used to support this expansion. With the birth of big box retailers in the 1980s, Malibu lighting became the go-to source for any landscape lighting needs. As the supply chain for consumer lighting products became global, Intermatic pursued multi-national manufacturing and sourcing to remain competitive. After several years of hard-fought success with this strategy, Intermatic exited the landscape lighting category in the mid-2000s. In 2015, we as a team created the concept of Lite the Nite.
