Hillsboro Charter Academy

The mission of the Hillsboro Charter Academy is to provide an SOL-based, academically rigorous STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math)-focused school of choice to Loudoun County families while maintaining the small, community-based approach of the school. This public charter school is located in western Loudoun County within historic Hillsboro, Virginia. It is a K – 5 school with a student population of 144 students. It opened in the fall of 2016. The HCA Board of Directors was passionate about bringing something new to the way children are educated. There is a Shared Leadership Model that includes a Leadership Team and a small staff of teachers with one per grade level. It is an experiential, inquiry-based school that incorporates science, technology, engineering, the arts and math (STEAM) into a project-based, real world curriculum that prepares students for twenty-first century learning.
