Viridian’s mission is to enable sustained, cost-effective satellite operation in ultra-low Earth orbit and to be good stewards to Earth’s increasingly congested orbital environment. We are developing the world’s first viable air-breathing electric propulsion system – a technology that will revolutionize spaceflight. This novel space vehicle propulsion system ingests rarefied atmosphere between 200 km – 300 km to feed a plasma thruster. From our unique ultra-low orbit vantage, Viridian satellites will provide premium services for Earth observation and connectivity, and be able to refuel from the atmosphere to provide in-orbit servicing to an increasingly congested LEO environment.
