Mission
HomePlate supports the positive development of young people experiencing homelessness or housing instability through community building, education, access to services and resources, and youth empowerment.
HomePlate operates three drop-in centers in Washington County which provide a safe and stable location for youth to gather around a hot meal with supportive community volunteers; access resources like clothes, hygiene supplies, and food to go; and gain assistance with referrals to other important community partners like shelters, transitional living programs, substance abuse treatment, mental health services, healthcare, parenting supports and much more.
In addition to our drop-in centers, HomePlate runs the county's largest outreach effort to reach homeless youth where they are: on the streets, at skate parks, at transit centers. Our outreach workers travel throughout the county by foot and Tri-met transportation to provide youth the same support and resources we provide at our drop-in sites.
