Center for Wildlife's mission is to build a sustainable future for wildlife and their habitats by providing medical care and treatment to injured and orphaned wild animals, and environmental education programs for the public.
Each year, we treat 1,900 injured and orphaned animals in our medical clinic, with the goal of releasing them back into the wild. Our non-releasable and permanently disabled animal ambassadors, along with our Project Wild certified educators also reach more than 10,000 people annually through our environmental education programs. Center for Wildlife also hosts a Wildlife Assistance Hotline, providing guidance to more than 15,000 people annually on how to coexist with local wildlife, and promote their survival and wellbeing.
Center for Wildlife offers a competitive internship program to 30 college students and young professionals each year in the fields of wildlife ecology, biology, pre-vet science, environmental science, and the like, as well as three full-time seasonal Medical Clinic Apprenticeships. With only seven full-time paid staff, we rely on 80+ volunteers to bring our mission to life.
We receive no state or federal funding for this work. 70% of Center for Wildlife's revenue comes from donations from the public; 10% from grants and family foundations; 10% from business sponsorships, and 10% from environmental education program fees.
